TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Iran's envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh said IAEA's Tuesday report reaffirms that Iran's nuclear program is peaceful, the local satellite Press TV reported on Wednesday.
Following the report by IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano to the agency's Board of Governors on Tuesday, Ali Asghar Soltanieh told Press TV in Vienna that the report once again reassure the international community that Iran's nuclear program is peaceful, said the report.
"According to the report, all Iranian nuclear activities, including enrichment, have been under the supervision of the agency, and have not been diverted to nuclear weapons production, which are completely peaceful," Soltanieh was quoted as saying.
The IAEA report on Tuesday said Iran still needs be cooperative to clarify whether its nuclear program is peaceful or not. The report which was circulated among IAEA member states will be discussed by IAEA Board of Governors in the two-day meeting in early December at the IAEA's headquarters in Vienna.
Western countries have accused Iran of covertly building nuclear weapons, but Tehran maintains that its nuclear program is peaceful and aims to generate electricity for civilian use.
